To new beginnings

"The quickest way to change your attitude toward pain is to accept the fact that everything that happens to us has been designed for our spiritual growth."
- M. Scott Peck, an amazing author and psychiatrist

What a weekend! First of all, I finished my grad class last week so I was actually able to ENJOY my weekend for once; fully, completely, and with all it had to offer.

Remember my post about rekindling with my best friend? Well I spent Friday night at her house with her son and husband. Chinese for dinner, snuggle-time with a 10-month old bundle of goodness (who I managed to get on tape taking a few brave steps!), and vino … lots and lots of vino.

It was honestly the best night I’ve had in a while. Lots of catching up, lots of giggles, I kicked HER butt in Just Dance, and her husband kicked MY butt in Wii tennis. I can’t wait to do it all again.

And Saturday …. Wait until you hear this …

I saw WICKED!!!!!

I get anxiety before I head into the city because I don’t know it that well, but once I get there I become addicted. It’s odd. But once I got to the show and I fell into a dreamland. My Mom and Step-dad bought all 6 kids a ticket for a Christmas gift.

I laughed, I cried, I laughed again, and then I balled my eyes out. We booked it back to the train and missed it by 2 minutes. We ate and drank at the Stout. Some of us fell asleep on the train and others danced like no one was watching.

My family told me I remind them of Glinda, the good witch. She was my favorite throughout the show so I took that as a compliment. I’ve been doing little dances and singing spurts now. Oh they are in for it!

And Sunday, I geared up for a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT I will be sharing with you guys on Wednesday on my blog. Sunday was full of ups and downs – thanks to my digital camera; I'll explain on Wednesday – but it ended on a positive note and with high hopes for a successful week and an even better future.

Oh, and I survived the one-year mark. I had dinner on Saturday with the fam-jam at the restaurant where, one year prior, my ex had asked me to be his one and only. And, it wasn’t until halfway through the meal that I realized it. Oh snap!
