Happy Monday Glamorous Hustle readers! I hope you all had a
wonderful Easter and Passover weekend, ate like kings and queens, and start
this week with a fresh outlook and a positive mentality.
I know I am!
As you all know, last week I announced my partnership with
Fit Cookie Monster for Operation Fit and an effort to make myself physically
and mentally healthier. Well, I successfully finished week 1 and weekend 1 with
only a few slip-ups.
I find it fascinating that by just changing my eating habits,
I lost weight and gained new cravings.
Rather than craving Coldstone ice cream after dinner, I now
crave frozen banana and peanut butter.
Rather than crave potato chips as an afternoon snack, I crave
cucumbers and cold brussel sprouts (I know, I’m on my own with that one).
And instead of craving wine every night (like everyone who
knows me, knows me as the wine-o), I now crave green tea, sleepy time tea, and
lots of water.
I actually turned down dinner with my parents at a local
pub/restaurant last week to grill up chicken and an onion (my oh my I’d die for
a grilled onion).
And this past weekend? I joined a freakin’ gym! Well, kind
of. It’s a 2-week pass but I have all intention of joining once the pass runs
out.
Saturday, I was the only woman in the gym, surrounded by
muscle-clad, sweaty men (yummy! No seriously, yummy!) and was so intimidated I
only had the will power for 2 miles on the elliptical machine – psshhh 2 miles!
Sunday, I was up at 8 am, scrambled up some eggs and veggies
and hit the gym at 9:15 for an advanced, 75 minute kickboxing class. The
instructor recognized everyone in the class but me. I introduced myself and had
said it was my first time and I had just signed up. Her response? “You do know
this is a 75 minute class right? Well, that’s ambitious, especially on a
holiday! Welcome!” And boy oh boy did she kick my butt.
I can’t wait to see what other classes I can take this week.
Working out in a group is a great starter for me to test my body and see how
far I can work it. I can’t wait to see the transformation my body is going to
make over the next few weeks.
